Do Plants feel pain ? What if you don't feel pain ?

Image
Elizabeth Van Valkenburgh a professor of Biology at University of Washington presented a theory on this topic. She says" Plants and Trees feel, preserve as well as respond to a touch including painful touch. According to her, Plants also respond to physical disturbances like being cut or wounded, just as human body respond to pain. Pain is the defense mechanism in human your body. The pain system in human body depends on brain. But, as we know Plants do not have brain" There would be a quite quiet debate among the researchers for the topic' Weather Plants do or don't feel pain. Some researchers conclude that, There is similar reaction in plants as well as animals after applying anesthetics. But, Van Valkenburgh says that just because a plant can theoretically be numb doesn't mean that plants can feel pain or not. Physiology of plants would definitely change after applying anesthetic drug on them. Her Conclusion: There must be a different defense system in plants  ...

Can we pass an electric current through tree or plants

The flow of electrons in one direction is called electricity The sap of the live tree consists  primarily of water, in addition to sugar, hormones, and mineral elements dissolved within  it. Water is an excellent conductor of Electricity , As a result, The tree is not a Insulator, but a poor conductor of Electricity. The live tree can Conduct electricity. This source suggests a typical conductivity of living tree sap is 0.01 S/m with a relative permittivity of 80 . As the Sap is touched to the ground through roots of the plants. The electricity conducted through the Leaves or Sap directly gets into the Ground.
